Nivesh Sahayak Profit and LossFree profit and loss account, balance sheet and trial balance

Free profit and loss account and balance sheet

Your sales, purchases, expenses, dues, cash and bank are already in the bills and payments you saved. See the trial balance, the profit and loss and the balance sheet for any period, add depreciation, capital, loans and drawings, and print the final accounts. Or type the figures from your ledger. No login.

How to make your final accounts here

  1. Pick the period. Usually the financial year, 1 April to 31 March. Any dates work, for example one month or a quarter.
  2. Check the trial balance. Every account from your saved records, with its head. Move a line to another head if it belongs elsewhere.
  3. Check the stock. Opening and closing stock come from the stock register. Type your own value after a stock count.
  4. Add what the bills do not show. Furniture and other fixed assets, depreciation, your capital, loans, drawings, interest received: two typed lines for each adjustment.
  5. Read the statements. Profit and loss and balance sheet in the Schedule III order, with gross and net profit. The balance sheet totals must be equal.
  6. Save and print. Save the statements, print them or share them as a PDF for your CA or the bank.

What it does for you

Your data stays with you

Everything you type is kept in this browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded to us. Your businesses, customers, suppliers and items are shared with the other Nivesh Sahayak document tools through my.niveshsahayak.in, so details you saved while making an invoice or a quotation are already here as suggestions.

Keep a backup. If the browser's data is cleared, saved work in it is gone. Open My data (top of the page) and press Save a backup file now and then. One file holds every document, customer and item, and restores them on any other computer or phone.

Questions people ask

Do I need to type all my sales and expenses again?

No. Bills, cash memos, credit notes, purchase bills, expenses, receipts and payments saved in any Nivesh Sahayak tool are read from the data home on this device. Type only what they do not show, such as fixed assets, depreciation, capital, loans and drawings.

Why does it say "Profit of earlier periods"?

When the period starts after your first saved record, the profit made before that date is carried in as one line, so the balance sheet agrees.

My cash in hand is below zero. Why?

The cash you started with was never entered. Add it as a typed line: Cash in hand on the debit side and Capital on the credit side.

Is this an audited balance sheet?

No. It is prepared from your own records. Your CA reviews and signs the final accounts, files them with your return and does the tax audit if one applies.

I keep my accounts in Tally. Can I use this?

Yes. Choose "Typed lines only" and type each balance of the Tally trial balance with its head, plus the opening and closing stock.

Is depreciation worked out for me?

Not yet. Type the depreciation for the year as two lines: the expense on the debit side and the same amount off the asset on the credit side.
